SPOOKY POOP CENTRAL!
General Info:
For those of you who don't know, Spooky Poop Zine has been around since the summer of 1992. It was created out of a general lack of things to do. A great friend of mine (one who got me into hardcore punk, I had already liked bands such as the DESCENDENTS years before, but had no idea their were different realms of punk) just moved away, and I wanted to do something. So out came Spooky Poop #1. It was short, photocopied and dumb (Everyone has to start somewhere!!!). Back then the 2nd "p" in poop was backwards. Why? I don't know. It was filled with dumb stories, poetry, a little about music and punk, but just mainly about being a weird kid. Anyway, it evolved.
It took years, but it evolved. I tried to make my zine in the image of others I had admired, FOE (mainly), Maximum Rock and Roll, and other newsprint zines. It took a while before I finally made it to newsprint, but now we're there. I've found that the zine keeps evolving in one way or the other. If anything, the layout is getting better.
There has never been a regular staff on Spooky Poop besides me, chicken. Some people who have written or drawn for the zine do need to be mentioned. So here they are (In no order mind you): Scott Gursky, Brian Gassler, Matt Heller, Chuck Saltern, Bill York, Joe Anastatio (Joekr), Eric Jacoby, Angelo Madrigale, Jamie Easy, Mike Madrigale, Alex White, Freddy the dick, Katie and Steph (I forget your last names), Skylar Gahaghan, Tameka Coleman, Em Drager, Tom Eidukonis, Kae Nickisher (all the way back in issue #2!), and who ever else.
Spooky Poop is still available, and many back issues are too. I know we have a supply of issue #17-21 readily available, and maybe some older ones (if I look hard enough). They are all $1 (cash) by mail to 16 W. main St #2 Fleetwood PA 19522. Or e-mail me.
